Sandwich panels can be made up of a wide variety of substrates such as plastics (e.g. GRP, ABS, PVC), wood (e.g.OSB, Plywood, Chipboard, MDF, HDF, cork), insualting materials (e.g. mineral wool, EPS, XPS, PIR) and metals (e.g. ceramic covered, galvanised, stainless), different materials have both adhesion and application challenges and greatly varying sizes and shapes that combined together require different adhesive application and handling solutions. Fin-Diemme has a solution for all your requirements and is able to make reccommendations to fit your exact needs.
Flat lamination typically refers to the bonding together of flat materials using roller coating technology. Fin-Diemme has a wide range of roller coating solutions for the application of Reactive hotmelts (Polyurethane/Polyolefin) ranging from 250mm to 3200mm coating width. The systems have varous configurations to allow the coating of materials rigid or flexible, large or small. Thermoplastic hotmelts can also be applied using our range of roller coaters. We also provide the adhesive tranfer systems, tank melter and drum unloaders to feed the roller coater.
Bead or spray are most commonly used where a none contact adhesive application is required or where the materials are not flat. In addition they can apply adhesives that have a much higher reactitvity in reaction and also adhesives that have foaming properties. Fin-Diemme has two base systems, X-Y in which the adhesive application traverses over the material to be coated or simple In-Line where the material passes under a fixed station and the adhesive is applied with a single axis perpendicular to the line. The most common adhesives to be applied are One and two component Polyurethanes however others typcials adhesives include Epoxies, Silicones and MS Polymers.
The Fin-Diemme range of cold roller coaters includes a variety of technologies including knife over roller and grooved rollers more typcially associated with PVA, EVA and Urea technology. Additionally we have four roller systems for the application of two component Polyurethanes which is beneficial where a high performance structural bond is required such as in Honeycomb panels of access flooring. Our RF range has been specifically designed to allow this adhesive technology to be roller applied ensuring a full surface and evenly distributed coating of adhesive with high potential production output.
